Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.SummaryThe Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for pharmacy programs, personnel (pharmacists and technicians), and operations within their respective patient care areas. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is a visionary leader within their respective field to lead and develop comprehensive services that deliver the full range of pharmaceutical care. This individual exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values, while acting in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Responsibilities Coordinate pharmacy services within their respective area. Provide team and departmental leadership, while maintaining an active practice in their area(s) of oversight. Maintain interdisciplinary relationships in relevant areas to support safe and effective medication use. Collaborate with informatics personnel to optimize use of technology in operations and clinical workflows. Perform outcomes research documenting drug therapy quality and the impact of pharmacy services. Plan performance improvement initiatives relating to medication use and safety. Promote and facilitate adherence to formulary medications and protocols, including participation in drug shortage management. Assist Clinical Pharmacy Director in annual evaluation and strategic planning of pharmacy services. Maintain a leadership role in continual transformation of pharmacy practice, information systems, and facilities. Partner with pharmacy operations team to effectively implement new formulary products, initiatives, or related projects. Support residency and experiential education programs. Serve as a preceptor for postgraduate trainees and students. Serve as a mentor for pharmacy staff. Encourage and support pharmacy staff with developing individual plans for continuing professional development. Serve as a member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and other pharmacy or organizational committees relevant to their respective areas. Serve as a member of the Pharmacy Operations Committee. Participate in management leadership meetings. Participate as a member of national organizations in their respective fields. Participate in accreditation surveys. Support onboarding of new pharmacist and technician staff, including coordination of training and competencies specific to their practice areas. Special projects, as assigned or self-identified to be departmental or hospital priorities. Required Job Qualifications: 6 years practice experience, Pharm.D. with PGY1 and PGY2 training (or equivalent experience), Illinois licensure, and board certification (specialty certification, as appropriate) Excellent clinical, written/verbal communication, experience supervising pharmacy personnel and precepting pharmacy learners, strong problem-solving skills, experience developing pharmacy services Knowledge of pertinent Information Technology Preferred Job Qualifications: Previous Clinical Coordinator or Residency Program Director experience Previous experience leading a multiprofessional committee or workgroup Physical Demands: This job may include extended periods of standing or walking.
