Spartanburg School District TwoJob DescriptionTITLE: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)FLSA: ExemptGENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Building Principal and Director of Special Services, the Speech Language Pathologist develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with communication disorders ;Evaluates and assesses students' progress against objectives; follows state mandated due process procedures and functions as IEP Manager to assigned students. Reports to: Building Principal and Director of Special Services PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assess & identify speech and language impairments in students through screenings and evaluations. Develops & implements individualized education plans (IEPs) to support student needs. Provides therapy in individual and group settings to help students improve communication skills. Collaborates with teachers, parents, and school staff to create inclusive learning environments. Maintains records by logging services and evaluations through the school district's system. Keeps abreast of current SLP professional developments and best practices in speech-language pathology.Strong Communication Skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Performs other related duties as required. JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation and Experience: Master's Degree South Carolina SLP Educator Certificate (acquired/in process). ASHA Certification & SC LLR License (required). Working Conditions: Office environment with limited exposure to environmental conditions. Physical demands are restricted to general office activities requiring movement/lifting items weighing up to twenty-five pounds. Routine local or regional travel required; occasional overnight travel required. Requires ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require considerable attention and meeting deadlines. Duties of the job require frequent use of a computer monitor and related equipment.
