MONITOR TECH/UNIT COORDINATOR

Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of health care team; responsible for organization of nurses' station; performing clerical and receptionist duties; requisitioning of supplies, equipment and services from other departments. Observes all elements of patient's rights and maintains patient confidentiality. Performs functions of monitor technician in carrying out all tasks/assignments monitored by RN/Charge Nurse. Accountable for all monitoring related tasks performed during shift. Maintains equipment and supplies with direction from Charge Nurse/RN. Willingness to work under close supervision. Ability to follow written or verbal instruction. Professionalism required at all times. Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of monitor technician education program provided by Columbia Memorial Hospital or successful completion of qualification examination. Experience: EKG experience preferred. Medical technology preferred. Must possess incentive and initiative to maintain and update professional knowledge and skill necessary to render optimal patient care.
