POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role requires strong hands-on mechanical skills, the ability to independently diagnose issues, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Technicians at this level are expected to work inside machines, restore equipment to operating condition, and support continuous improvement efforts across the plant. We value transferable mechanical experience and problem-solving ability over specific job titles or prior experience working on identical equipment. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems with limited supervision Work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to diagnose and resolve equipment issues Perform preventive maintenance and support improvements to PM processes • Document work performed and share findings to support future troubleshooting and team learning KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnose mechanical and equipment issues and perform hands-on repairs to restore production equipment Repair and replace components such as bearings, shafts, rollers, belts, and similar mechanical parts Work inside machines and equipment to troubleshoot failures and implement effective repairs Perform machine changeovers, setups, adjustments, and die changes as required Complete preventive maintenance tasks and suggest improvements to PM documentation and processes Participate in daily machine walk-throughs with Operators to assess equipment condition and address concerns • Support TPM activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Accurately record parts, materials, and labor associated with maintenance activities Assist with training or mentoring less-experienced maintenance team members as needed Follow all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures, and promote a safe work environment Communicate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, and Leadership regarding equipment status and priorities Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude while supporting plant needs Perform other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated hands-on mechanical experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or equipment-intensive environment Experience repairing or maintaining production equipment such as CNC, cutting, or similar machinery, or comparable experience from other industries involving complex equipment repair Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment issues and identify practical repair solutions Strong work ethic, curiosity, and willingness to learn and take on new challenges Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shift PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Technical certificate, associate degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience Three or more years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience Experience with mechanical systems including bearings, shafts, rollers, and power transmission components Exposure to electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems Prior experience supporting preventive maintenance or continuous improvement efforts PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must have close, distance, color, & peripheral vision abilities along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
