Job Summary The Maintenance Technician II position at West Marine performs preventative maintenance, and repairs on the Distribution Center's (DC) equipment, grounds, and structures. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of all industrial equipment and industrial structures used within and around the distribution area, in a safe and professional manner. West Marine is a Drug-Free Workplace and an Equal Opportunity Employer. Primary Responsibilities Respond, troubleshoot and repair all conveyor operational issues daily. Perform inspections to assigned conveyor sections daily. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance functions to assigned conveyor sections. Troubleshoot and repair all 110V,220V, 277V and 480V facility electrical issues Perform Facility roof review monthly. Inspect/Monitor and services the main Air Compressor System consisting of (2) rotary screw air compressors, (1) air dryer and (1) oil/water separator daily. Monitor and/or service the Shipping and Receiving powered gates and remote phone station. Monitor and maintain facilities lighting systems (interior and exterior) Review operations of the Accu-sort scanner daily Review control set points for the Summit HVAC controller and adjust as needed Perform welding and metal fabrication. Service and maintain the grounds sprinkler system.(seasonal) Perform grounds keeping and landscaping as needed. Performs fire pump testing on a rotational basis Supports battery changing duties as needed for PIT operators as needed daily. Supports facility/operational projects as needed. Perform general facility maintenance as needed. Ensure a safe and clean work environment for crew members, adhering to all safety rules and standards. Be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Welding Certificate preferred Prior conveyor repair experience preferred. Extensive knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and repairing ALL electrical and mechanical conveyor system issues. Must have extensive knowledge and experience with A/C and D/C voltage. Electrical panels, reading electrical schematics, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform 110V, 220V, 277V and 480V repairs along with installs. Skills: Good verbal and written communication abilities. Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, ensuring efficient operations. Strong time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently. Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address challenges proactively. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and delegate appropriately when necessary. Comfortable functioning in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software applications.
