Job Description

This position provides an opportunity to learn about current and future ecological restoration efforts on the Fernbank Museum of Natural History campus and help eradicate non-native invasive species. With this position volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about native woodlands and also assist with restoration activities such as removing invasive plant species and replanting native plant species in forested areas around and behind the museum. Background and/or strong interest in restoration ecology, botany, gardening, or horticulture encouraged. A background check will be required prior to beginning service. Materials will be provided by the Fernbank as necessary. Please complete an application here: Forest Restoration Days will usually take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon on the second Saturday of each month, though other opportunities may arise.
