Candidates must be attending a graduate school program. This internship supports the mental and behavioral health of clients under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician. Anchor Within Counseling is a multi-cultural focused practice which prioritizes connecting Black/African, Latino/Hispanic, and Native/Indigenous people to culturally-informed providers. We serve all clients and have specific training and awareness of racial and ethnic norms which impact everyone. We are a practice where you can learn from seasoned clinicians and build a strong foundation in holistic mental health work. About Anchor Within Counseling Anchor opened it's doors in the fall of 2015. We serve individuals, families, and the community primarily with psychotherapy services. We host group forums and workshops centered on family healing and community growth. Our services are rendered through a holistic approach and with evidence-based practices. We prioritize the care of historically marginalized racial/cultural populations in the field of social service and mental health care. Our purpose is rooted in stimulating healing that is anchored in lasting, long-term change. Description Internship Opportunity: Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of individuals/families seeking change? Join our team as graduate student and gain valuable experience in providing therapy to individuals, children, youth, families, and/or couples in need. Responsibilities Include: Provide weekly/bi-weekly individual and family therapy in the office setting Shadow and/or conduct joint intakes for new clients with an employed clinician or supervisor Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors on the formulation of comprehensive individual treatment plans Complete and document quarterly treatment plan reviews in conjunction with the task supervisor Formulate safety assessments, tracking client progression with supervisor Regularly incorporate at least 2 evidence-based practices when planning and conducting therapy sessions Involve and advise family members of clinical recommendations as appropriate Gather data on client responses to the care provided Participate in the assessment of client's need for referrals to outside specialist (like psychiatry, occupational therapy, nutrition counseling, and the like) Maintain client confidentiality. Qualifications & Requirements: Must be a second-year graduate student in good standing with your accredited program Complete all necessary paperwork for NPI and OHA registration Demonstrate strong relationship-building skills Possess a high degree of attention to detail Ability to effectively manage time and maintain a consistent schedule Courage to communicate professional requests clearly and promptly to the supervisor Culturally-Specific Skills Highly Desired: Adeptness to serve Black, African, Latino, Hispanic, Native, and/or Indigenous populations from a racially informed lens Readiness to serve clients who ascribe to spiritual/religious beliefs Don't miss out on this opportunity to gain hands-on experience from culturally-informed providers and prepare to make a lasting impact on the community.
