For more information, visit To view all job vacancies, visit or Job Title: Anesthesia Tech- Pavillion- PRN Requisition Number: 42206 Employment Type: PRN Division: PERIOP Compensation Type: Hourly Job Category: Patient Care Support Hours Worked: Location: JPS Patient Care Pavilion Shift Worked: Various/Rotating Shift Job Description: Description: The Anesthesia Technician PRN is an individual who has not met the requirements to apply for the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians national certification examination, or has met the requirements but has opted to not pursue the credentials of becoming a Certified Anesthesia Technician. Typical Duties: Assist with patient care in a way that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection, biological hazards, accidental contamination, and protects the patient from harm. Demonstrates knowledge of the purpose, use, and care of physiological monitors relating to the administration of anesthesia. Delivers and obtains items from other areas of the hospital. Assists in monitoring adequate availability and stocking of supplies and equipment according to the established PAR level. Performs clerical functions as required and collect data for Unit Specific Process Improvement as needed. Performs point of care testing in accordance with hospital policy. Demonstrates proper handling of bulk and cylinder gases. Performs other related job duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience: High School graduate, GED or equivalent. Must complete unit orientation competencies within 90 days of hire. At least two years experience in a hospital based patient care setting Preferred Education and Experience: Two-years experience as an anesthesia technician. Associates degree in healthcare related field from accredited university. Required Specific Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: Current JPS recognized Basic life support (BCLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment. Location Address: 1575 S.
