LaGrange District 102 is committed to building and sustaining a multicultural school community that fosters equity, diversity, and inclusion.Qualifications: Illinois Professional Educator License (plus endorsement in Early Childhood) Current endorsement in special education or Learning Behavior Specialist License with an endorsement in early childhood Previous experience teaching in the area of assignment within the last 4 years and/or coursework in the area of assignment within the last 3 years Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and skill in the content area/assignment Knowledge and experience with Google Suite Excellent communication skills Responsibilities: Implement the district's curriculum and instructional practices that align with the Board of Education standards Engage in continuous professional development designed to improve instruction Follow the policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education and the Illinois School Code Create an effective and attractive learning environment for students Maintain an effective learning atmosphere that promotes standards and behavior appropriate to the students' grade level Lead students in planning and implementing a personal fitness program that develops better health and fitness Maintain knowledge of techniques and strategies that ensure safe participation in a range of physical activities Develop lesson plans and requisition instructional materials that provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, working time, and reflection, while maintaining required inventory records Incorporate appropriate grade-level technologies into the physical education experience Instruct students on proper techniques (i.e., forms, proper stance, game strategies, etc.) and safe use of equipment Cooperate with other PE teachers on strategies, techniques,s and implementation of physical education curriculum goals Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to integrate physical education activities into other curricular areas Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis and be an advocate for the physical education program. (i.e., articles in the school newsletter, performances, phone calls, person-to-person) Regularly evaluate pupils' academic and social personal growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports Identify student needs and work with other employees to help solve student health, attitude and learning problems Supervise students in and out of classroom activities during the assigned workday Participate in curriculum development programs, staff committees,s and sponsorship of student activities as required Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by the Building Administrator Application Procedure Online applications only, please.
