Overton ISD - District / School NurseFull-Time Position Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 per year (based on experience) Overton ISD is seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our District/School Nurse. This position plays a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff while helping ensure that every Mustang is ready to learn and thrive. Our District Nurse is not only a healthcare professional but also a trusted partner to families, staff, and administrators. Primary Responsibilities Maintain required student immunization records and ensure compliance with Texas regulations Perform all state-mandated health screenings Monitor and track communicable diseases Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care Deliver direct care to students, faculty, and staff as needed Implement and support district-wide school health programs Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and families to support student wellness Maintain accurate and confidential health records QualificationsRequired: Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing Current Texas Registered Nursing License CPR (Healthcare Provider) Certification Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience Citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required Preferred: Bachelor's degree Prior school nursing or relevant pediatric/community health experience Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will: Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and calm decision-making in emergencies Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Be highly organized and detail-oriented Exhibit compassion, discretion, and professionalism Value teamwork and community engagement About Overton ISD Overton ISD exists to empower every student to grow, achieve, and excel - academically, personally, and socially - through engaging instruction, caring relationships, and a shared commitment to excellence and community.
