Additionally, WSM engages employers in various industries throughout the county to ensure that their workforce needs are being met.Position Overview:The Lead Career Advisor - Reentry is a key member of the Dual Track/MCCF team. This position provides leadership, operational support, and functional oversight when the Program Manager is unavailable, ensuring consistent service delivery and workflow continuity.The Lead Career Advisor provides intensive case management for justice-involved individuals at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF), while also supporting program coordination, monitoring program lists, and conducting frequent pod visits to enhance outreach, promote enrollment, and strengthen engagement with potential participants.This role also collaborates closely with internal partners, facility staff, and community agencies to support successful reentry, workforce readiness, and career pathway opportunities for returning citizens.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support day-to-day program coordination, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and facility protocols. Monitor and maintain updated program tracking lists, enrollment lists, outreach logs, and engagement reports. Assist the Program Manager with workflow organization, resource sharing, scheduling, and service alignment.Lead WSM reentry efforts at the pre-release center, including weekly visits and workshopsDeliver comprehensive case management, including intake, assessments, individualized service planning, referrals, goal setting, and progress tracking. Conduct frequent pod visits to build rapport, identify new participants, and encourage enrollment in workforce, reentry, and supportive services. Maintain consistent communication with participants to monitor goals, identify barriers, and provide targeted support. Facilitate in-person MCCF workshops on topics such as job readiness, financial literacy, life skills, and career planning. Assist participants with résumé development and job search preparation for post-release success.Serve as a liaison between MCCF staff, community partners, and WSM teams to coordinate wraparound services and post-release support. Produce accurate monthly reports related to engagement, enrollment, participation, and outcomes. Collaborate with colleagues to support workforce development programming, sector strategies, and participant transitions to community-based services.Ensure accurate documentation within the Maryland Workforce Exchange (MWE) and WSM systems. Track outreach activities, enrollment efforts, and follow-up outcomes. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends, service gaps, and participant needs.Attend required training, meetings, and occasional after-hours community engagement activities. Perform additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of workforce development, reentry services, and WSM's mission. Experience working with high-risk or justice-involved individuals. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to build rapport quickly and engage participants in structured settings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems; MWE experience preferred. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work both independently and collaboratively. Interest in social justice, reentry advocacy, and fair chance hiring. Spanish-speaking preferred.Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred OR four years of related professional experience. Minimum two years of experience supporting justice-involved or high-barrier populations. Must successfully pass MCCF background screening. Must be able to work full-time in a correctional facility setting.Status: Full Time - ExemptLocation: The role will be scheduled at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility 5 days per week for 8 hours.
