Job Title: Packaging Lead Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, DOE Hours: Full-time, 10PM - 6:30AM Start Date: ASAP Looking for a hands-on leadership role in the food manufacturing industry? Join a growing cereal and food production facility as a Packaging Lead and make a meaningful impact on safety, quality, and operational excellence. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Packaging Lead, you'll oversee daily packaging operations, support team development, and ensure compliance with strict food safety standards. You will collaborate closely with quality assurance and management teams to drive efficient and safe production processes. What You'll Do: Support and enforce food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with all relevant standards. Supervise and train team members to perform packaging tasks safely and efficiently. Review daily production schedules and prioritize tasks to maximize throughput. Communicate shift pass-down information clearly to ensure a seamless handoff between shifts. Monitor adherence to process parameters, specifications, and controls throughout packaging operations. Conduct first-article inspections of packaged products and verify documentation in ERP systems like Oracle or SAP. Record downtime, equipment issues, and raw material usage accurately in production logs. Collaborate with team members to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals. Support new line launches and employee onboarding by providing training and guidance. Lead corrective actions, manage discipline when necessary, and foster a safety-conscious team environment. Maintain accurate records related to yields, raw materials, and quality assurance documentation. What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing or related field. Minimum of 2 years' experience in production leadership, preferably in food manufacturing. Strong supervision and team management skills. Knowledge of GMPs, allergen control, and lean manufacturing principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in dusty or temperature-controlled environments.
