HVAC Technician

Location Hartford,CT Description Our client, the U.S.'s largest commercial real estate services firm, has an exciting opportunity for an HVAC Technician to support a premier facilities client servicing a portfolio of retail locations throughout the Hartford, CT area. This field-based role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys working independently, solving complex mechanical issues, and maintaining critical refrigeration and HVAC systems that keep operations running smoothly. Using a company-provided vehicle, you will service sites within an approximate 20-30 mile radius. This 3-month contract offers strong potential for extension and eventual full-time conversion. Responsibilities: Install, repair, adjust, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers and freezers Diagnose equipment failures and independently determine effective repair solutions Perform preventive maintenance and performance testing to ensure optimal system operation Service electric or pneumatic control systems used in commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment Respond to assigned service calls and plan daily routes based on priority and location Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, regulations, and codes Document service activities using mobile devices and work order systems Maintain organization of tools, parts, and service vehicle Required Experience & Qualifications: Universal EPA Certification (required) Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (MVR required) Strong refrigeration experience, particularly with refrigerant systems Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair walk-in coolers and freezers independently Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously Strong time management and organizational skills Proficiency using tablets, mobile platforms, and email for work documentation High school diploma or GED required 3+ years of refrigeration experience preferred (all experience levels considered) Nice-to-Have Skills: Electrical repair experience Plumbing experience
