The State of Wisconsin is looking for 1 Certified .NET Web Developer II position The District Attorney IT Program (DAIT) is currently recruiting to fill a .NET web developer position (full-stack with emphasis on front end) for our PROTECT Modernization Project. The position will be remote though the candidate must reside in WI. This may be a contract to hire position. Position Summary: This position is responsible for participating in the refactoring of the PROTECT case management system to ensure that it is cloud ready as part of the 2-year modernization effort. This position serves as a member of the core team that includes members of the existing DAIT team and IT contractors. PROTECT is the in-house developed comprehensive case management system used by all 71 District Attorney offices across the State. The system is a crucial tool for the operation of the DA offices as well as State justice partners (DOT, DOT, DOC and CCAP) through various interfaces. The system is currently SQL client-server based (VB.NET) and will be modernized in place with the new code being rolled out as it is refactored by feature/segment. Experience: REQUIRED STRONGLY DESIRED At least four years of experience in the following: .NET development including new development and enhancement projects; supporting and troubleshooting existing applications; upgrading legacy applications; source control (Teams, DevOps, etc.); HTML; CSS; Web APIs; ASP.NET; MVC frameworks; SQL scripting. Strong knowledge of SDLC best practices; ability to identify root cause; general knowledge of database best practices. Experience with UI development using NET MVC with Telerek or Blazor or single page app using Vue, React, or Angular. Solid understanding of good programming and design practices. Ability to learn quickly; synthesize complex information; identify key points and communicate results accurately and effectively. Ability to analyze business/functional specifications and create work product from said specifications. Ability to develop technical specifications and documentation for automated business systems. Ability to develop works plans, estimate effort, and track progress on projects and tasks. Ability to develop and execute test plans and procedures. Experience working in a DevOps environment. Strong communication skills, including verbal (phone/video) and written (email). Strong analytical, organizational, and task management skills. Application authentication using Active Directory. Component One Win/Web Forms Controls State and/or Local Government work history. SQL 2022 Dockers or Kubernetes for container management, orchestration & deployment Example Responsibilities: Design and code programs using object-oriented design for new and existing systems (UIs, reports, batch jobs, business logic, data access modules, and justice partner interfaces) to meet user needs and specifications using approved DAIT development toolkits and programming languages (like Microsoft .NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, etc.) in an integrated development environment. Prepare problem definitions, workflow procedures, and test plans necessary for effective support and maintenance of assigned systems. Use and develop prototypes, modules, components, utilities, and other software aids as required. Run, test and debug programs so that all possible conditions are accounted for and that all calculations and formulas are accurate. Develop reusable software test scripts and plans. Understanding business requirements to achieve DAIT's desired outcomes, while adhering to agency policies and procedures. Suggesting, and demonstrating, conceptual designs to improve the user experience. Communication of important updates and/or necessary changes to Management, where appropriate Support for other DAIT team initiatives as needed. Top Skills: Candidate must have at least 4 years of .NET web development experience (new development and upgrades) Experience with HTML; CSS; Web APIs; ASP.NET; MVC frameworks and/or SQL scripting. (at least 3 years of experience) Experience with UI development using NET MVC with Telerek or Blazor or single page app using Vue, React, or Angular. (at least 3 years of experience). Experience with source control (Teams, DevOps, etc.) at least 3 years of experience. Nice to Have: Experience with application authentication using Active Directory. Experience with SQL 2018 or higher. Experience with Dockers or Kubernetes for container management, orchestration & deployment. Interview Process: 1 round via Teams, more rounds will be scheduled if necessary. Duration of Contract: Until 06/30/2024 with extensions possible. Onsite or Remote? 100% remote within the State of Wisconsin. Candidate MUST be a WI resident. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
