Job Title Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Reports to CEO/President FLSA / WAGE Exempt / $143,000.00 Original Date: November 2020 Revised: February 2026 JOB SUMMARY The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides leadership, direction and management of all aspects of finance and accounting for Park Center. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO provides financial information, analysis, forecasting, and recommendations to support the strategic direction of the organization. The CFO monitors financial performance, compliance with funding requirements, and implements fiscal best practices throughout Park Center. As leader of the Finance Department, the CFO cultivates a team of competent, knowledgeable professionals and supports continual development of job skills and responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategic Leadership and Planning: In partnership with the rest of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Board of Directors, provides leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of Park Center priorities, direction, impact and sustainability of resources. Contributes reports, analysis, and subject matter expertise to inform and direct strategic decisions. Participates actively in Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and advises on financial implications of short and long term plans. Ensures credibility of Finance Department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts. Support Human Resource and Operational functions that impact financial reporting and recordkeeping. Financial Management and Reporting Provides oversight of all finance and accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, investments, and general ledger transactions. Responsible for fiscal compliance with grant funding and provides oversight of spending and accurate recordkeeping. Prepares monthly consolidated and department level financial statements. Leads preparation of annual agency operating budget and capital budgets, in collaboration with Executive and Senior Leadership Teams. Coordinates the Annual Audit, 990 completion and Tax Return completion processes to ensure timely completion to comply with all external needs and requests for such information. Works closely with the Chief Housing Officer and CEO to budget for, manage expenditures and funding and report on Park Center construction projects. Meets weekly with CHO, CEO and others for progress updates on Capital and Construction projects, Ensures all Federal, State and local requirements are met to ensure Park Center remains in good standing to operate as a charitable organization. Manages external agency and grant focused audits; supports program focused audits as needed. Creates and manages an effective system of internal controls which ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting. Reviews monthly account reconciliations and general ledger postings for accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Provides oversight and support to third party insurance billing services. Collaborates with CEO, CPO and COO to negotiate and expand MCO and grant contracts for agency provided services. In collaboration with CEO and COO, reviews and/or approves all contracts for the organization. Provides oversight and execution of bi-weekly payroll. Board Relations: Work with the CEO to provide updates and financial reports to the Board of Directors Serves as staff liaison to the Park Center Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Property Committee, working closely with the Board Treasurer on all finance related matters. Risk Management: Assesses and manages financial risks, including market fluctuations, credit risks, and operational risks, to protect Park Center's assets and ensure financial stability. In partnership with the Quality Assurance department, implements strategies to ensure compliance with regulations and organizational policies. Takes deliberate steps to increase own cultural competency by attending trainings, events, discussions, workshops, etc. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or a related field. Master's degree or CPA preferred. 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, with 5 of those being in a Director level or higher. Advanced knowledge of accounting software, Financial Edge preferred, and Microsoft Office products Ability to effectively advocate with key stakeholders Proven track record of successful leadership in a strategic capacity. WORKING CONDITIONS Routine office environment with some hybrid work from home options available. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. The ability to operate with many distractions. The ability to commute to different office locations as needed.
