The Cost Accounting Manager will oversee and execute cost accounting functions across EPC's manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role requiring significant attention to detail and deep involvement in day-to-day activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing day-to-day cost accounting activities. The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate cost records, supporting financial reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cost structures and drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Cost Accounting Operations • Manage standard costing, inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS), and variance analysis. • Maintain and improve cost accounting policies and procedures in alignment with company goals and compliance standards. • Ensure accurate and timely recording of manufacturing costs and inventory transactions. Financial Reporting & Analysis • Support month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory and cost accounting. • Provide actionable insights to finance and operations teams to improve financial performance. Inventory & Cost Management • Oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliation, valuation, and analysis of excess and obsolete inventory. • Implement controls and best practices to improve inventory accuracy and reduce waste. • Assist in budgeting and forecasting for inventory-related costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. Process Improvement • Identify opportunities to enhance cost accounting systems and reporting accuracy. • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to improve ERP integration and automation of cost accounting processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and engineering teams to understand cost drivers and support strategic initiatives. • Provide financial guidance for product development, sourcing decisions, and production planning. Audit & Compliance • Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and company policies. • Support internal and external audits with accurate and timely documentation. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred. • Minimum of 10 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including 5+ years in a leadership role. • Expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, inventory accounting, and cost forecasting. • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Excel. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset. • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. • Proven track record of driving process improvements and cost control initiatives. • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work under tight deadlines.
