Job Summary: A Mechanic is responsible for the teardown, maintenance, and assembly of race trucks in preparation for on-track performance. This includes general mechanical work, driveline, and fuel system componentsfor NASCAR Truck builds, including removal, installation, cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and proper upkeep of all related parts. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Clean, service, and measure parts weekly, inspecting for wear, cracks, or other defects Maintain, install, and repair fuel cells, fuel pumps, and fuel heads Perform weekly maintenance on all fuel system components Install and remove engines, ensuring proper connection to driveline components Safety-check all bolts, fasteners, and critical connections Assist with unloading and loading haulers Assist with teardown procedures following races Disassemble, inspect, maintain, and clean components for various systems, including driveline assemblies, package trays, rear-end coolers, brake ducting, and fans Assemble and service fuel hoses, fittings, and heads Perform post-wrap duties and other related maintenance tasks Collaborate with team members to ensure timely car readiness for events Perform all other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and time management abilities with a proven record of meeting deadlines Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong desire and ability to learn and adapt quickly High attention to detail and accuracy in work performed Strong sense of accountability and reliability Team-oriented and collaborative attitude Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Proactive approach to problem-solving and task completion Proficiency in using basic hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments Knowledge of NASCAR rules and technical requirements Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge Fabrication and welding skills a plus Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred • Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience in a motorsports environment required • Basic computer skills (inventory systems, data logging) • Fabrication experience preferred • Racing/motorsports experience required Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in awkward positions Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds at times (with assistance or mechanical aid) Ability to work in hot or cold shop conditions depending on season Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility, including tight or confined spaces when working on vehicles Please note: Spire and all affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity employer(s).
