Systems Administrator

Long Island based Quantitative Hedge Fund seeks an HPC Systems Administrator with Storage experience This is a permanent direct hire opportunity. The schedule is on-site 5 days a week in Port Jefferson, NY Compensation is competitive including base + bonus and comprehensive benefits ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, support, and troubleshoot Linux server and desktop infrastructure; document IT infrastructure, policies, and procedures; and perform general user support Skills, Qualifications, and ExperienceExtensive experience designing, deploying, and supporting Linux servers and desktops Experience with HPC Storage tools like VAST Data, NetApp, or something similar Thorough understanding of systems and network protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS) and UNIX/Linux system internals (kernel, drivers, file systems, virtual memory) Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field PlusExperience deploying and supporting open source and proprietary infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Radius, NFS, Kerberos, OpenSSL), integrating them into the existing infrastructure, and debugging and patching them Experience implementing, operating, and supporting open source tools for system and security monitoring and management on UNIX/Linux platforms Knowledge of scripting to automate tasks Anticipated base 250-350k +/-, + significant bonus potential
