Job Title: Sanitation TechnicianJob DescriptionAs a Sanitation Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, tools, and work areas according to established procedures. You will disassemble and reassemble machinery for thorough cleaning, follow strict sanitation schedules, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and inspect equipment to ensure proper sanitation. Collaboration with production and quality teams to maintain food safety standards is essential, as is supporting continuous improvement in hygiene, safety, and efficiency.Responsibilities Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work areas following established procedures. Disassemble and reassemble machinery for thorough cleaning. Follow strict sanitation schedules to ensure all areas are cleaned within required timeframes. Handle cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to training and regulatory guidelines. Inspect cleaned equipment and areas to verify proper sanitation. Document sanitation activities accurately and consistently. Collaborate with production and quality teams to maintain food safety standards. Identify and report any maintenance or safety issues. Support continuous improvement efforts related to hygiene, safety, and efficiency. Essential Skills Knowledge of food safety, cleaning, sanitizing, and sanitation practices. Experience in food manufacturing, GMPs, and food quality standards. Janitorial skills and ability to sanitize effectively. Understanding of SOPs in food production and manufacturing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in sanitation, food production, or industrial cleaning preferred. Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and follow safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods. Willingness to work in a wet, cold, or humid environment. Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment disassembly and reassembly. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a cheese manufacturing facility and laboratory. Work hours are within the 2nd or 3rd shift from Monday to Friday. The workload typically increases from late summer through early fall, requiring work every other Saturday during this period. The work environment can be wet, cold, or humid.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of BELGIUM, WI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
