General Paving SuperintendentIndependence Excavating is looking for a skilled and experienced General Paving Superintendent to join our growing team. As the General Superintendent , you will manage concrete paving airport projects and supervise the day-to-day activities involved with a particular project. The General Superintendent will assess the resources needed for each assignment and generate cost estimates based on their assessment to inform the project's budget. General Paving Superintendent is responsible for completion of high-profile projects throughout the country, including but not limited to: Run day-to-day operations on the construction siteNeeds to be multi-faceted in construction knowledge from earthwork, utilities, and pavingMaintain a safe work site and certify that all company safety protocols are followedRepresent the company with professionalism and lead the overall construction effort in accordance with design, quality, and scheduleDirect and lead the onsite foreman & make onsite decisionsClearly communicate the plan and directive with the foreman & subcontractorsCoordinate resources, project strategy, and a pathway for project successDevelop the work schedule with the project manager & maintain and lead discussion of a two-week look aheadCommunicate daily with the Construction Operations Manager about schedules and resources neededReview equipment and personnel with foreman for resources needed Do you have what it takes? High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Additional construction certifications or training preferred5-10 years' of experience as a SuperintendentHave working knowledge of FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, and various state DOT specificationsStrong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assignedDevelop positive working relationships with owners and project engineers as well as local government officesMust effectively manage union workforcesAbility to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners and general contractorsPossess a forward-thinking drive to continually improve and have the willingness to learnWilling to attain certain certifications that may be needed on an as needed project basis100% traveling position Why IX?
