OnCall Fleet Safety Maintenance Assistant

Job SummarySpiritual Hands is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined On-Call Fleet Safety & Maintenance Assistant to support our healthcare transportation fleet during after-hours operations. This role is responsible for routine vehicle inspections, basic preventative maintenance, yard vehicle movement, and responding to emergency situations such as flat tires and minor vehicle issues.This position is ideal for someone dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable being on-call to ensure our vehicles remain safe, operational, and ready to transport patients when needed.Key ResponsibilitiesMove and position company vehicles safely within the yard or designated areasPerform routine vehicle inspections, including:Checking tire pressure and treadChecking oil levels and basic fluidsVisual safety inspections for damage or mechanical concernsPerform basic preventative maintenance (non-mechanic duties only)Document and report vehicle issues promptly to managementRespond to after-hours and on-call emergency situations, including:Flat tire assistanceMinor roadside or vehicle supportCoordinating repairs when issues exceed scopeMaintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and yard areasFollow all safety protocols and company policiesQualificationsValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordBasic knowledge of vehicle maintenance (tires, oil, fluids)Ability to operate and maneuver vehicles safelyAbility to work independently and respond promptly to on-call requestsReliable, punctual, and safety-mindedComfortable working after-hours, nights, weekends, and being on-callPreferred (Not Required)Experience in fleet support, vehicle maintenance, or transportation servicesYard driver, fleet assistant, or roadside support experienceExperience working with company or healthcare transportation vehiclesPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to climb in and out of vehicles safelyCompensation & Performance ReviewStarting pay: $16.00 per hour90-day performance reviewOpportunity for pay increase based on performance, reliability, attendance, and on-call responsivenessImportant NotesThis position does not require mechanic certificationDuties are limited to inspections, basic preventative maintenance, and support servicesAdvanced mechanical repairs will be handled by licensed professionals
