Pharmacy Technician (Specialty - Medically Integrated Dispensing) Location: Costa Mesa, CA Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) team within a specialized physician's office. This unique role focuses exclusively on specialty medications for Rheumatology and Osteoporosis. Unlike a traditional retail pharmacy, you will operate under the guidance and license of a physician (governed by the Board of Medicine). Key Responsibilities Specialty Dispensing: Manage the daily workflow for approximately 25 specialty prescriptions per day. Clinical Oversight: Perform all dispensing duties under the supervision of a physician in an environment where no pharmacist is present. Prior Authorizations: Navigate the prior authorization process to ensure patients receive their specialty treatments without delay. Patient Adherence: Utilize your pharmacy background to support medication compliance and adherence for complex chronic conditions. Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Board of Medicine regulations and internal clinical workflows. Qualifications Licensure: Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification is required. Experience: Open to new graduates; however, previous retail pharmacy experience is preferred to ensure a strong grasp of compliance and insurance workflows. Specialty Focus: Experience or interest in Rheumatology and Osteoporosis medications is a plus. Language Skills: Proficiency in Armenian and Farsi is highly preferred to better serve our patient demographic.
