Lead Lifeguards help create memorable guest experiences while developing and supporting an engaged lifeguard crew. You’ll thrive in this role if you: • Lead with professionalism, integrity, and positivity • Stay calm, attentive, and safety-focused at all times • Enjoy coaching and mentoring newer lifeguards • Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and teammates • Take pride in representing Circus Circus with hospitality and care Key Responsibilities • Maintain constant awareness of guest and team safety — safety comes first • Help supervise lifeguard rotations, breaks, and station readiness • Support training, onboarding, and reinforcement of safety and service standards • Assist with emergency response and complete incident documentation as required • Monitor lifeguard alertness, hydration, professionalism, and appearance • Support smooth daily pool operations alongside Pool Management • Lead with a team-building approach, encouraging cooperation and respect • Perform lifeguarding duties when needed, including stands and slide operations • Uphold Circus Circus uniform, grooming, and guest-service expectations • Perform other job-related duties as assigned Minimum Requirements • Must be 18 years of age or older • Minimum 6 months previous lifeguarding experience • Professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance • Ability to work varied shifts, including at least two weekend days (Fri/Sat/Sun) May–Aug Mandatory Swim Test •Completed continuously — without touching the bottom or taking a break • 3 continuous laps • 2-minute water tread (hands out of water) • 3 additional continuous laps Certifications & Qualifications • American Red Cross CPR/AED for Lifeguards — Required • American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification — Required • Lifeguard Instructor certification — Preferred • Completion of required trainings (BBP, MSDS, Safety/HazCom, Orientation) within 10 days of hire • Ability to enforce rules courteously and professionally • Strong communication, judgment, and leadership presence • Ability to stay calm, focused, and supportive during emergencies Physical / Work Environment • Stand, walk, and move throughout pool areas for extended periods • Walk long distances and climb up to six stories • Lift and move pool furniture and towel bins up to 100 lbs • Work outdoors in heat, cold, and inclement weather • Work weekends and holidays as needed Splash Zone Perks • One complimentary meal per scheduled shift • Hydration support (water, electrolytes, popsicles) • Lifeguard recertification support with prior approval • Uniforms provided • Pool access after 90-day probation period • Meaningful leadership experience in a fun, team-focused environment • Transfer eligibility after six months (as age allows and business needs permit) Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
