Position Summary: The Clinical Research Medical Director will lead the clinical strategy for upcoming trials, including indication selection, trial design, and continuous monitoring of safety signals. This is a remote position, and candidates may reside anywhere in the US. Key Responsibilities: Design clinical trials, determining study populations, eligibility criteria, treatment durations, clinical endpoints, biomarkers, and safety strategies. Act as the Program Physician for clinical trials, navigating patient eligibility and treatment inquiries in partnership with CRO medical monitors and study investigators. Collaborate with preclinical scientists to translate biological effects from animal studies to humans, influencing endpoint and biomarker selection. Utilize nonclinical safety data to inform safety strategies in trial design. Contribute to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and timelines. Review safety data to monitor individual subjects and identify trends in safety signals from ongoing trials. Summarize and present clinical trial data to internal teams and external audiences. Provide strategic input into clinical development plans and regulatory strategies. Review and provide insights on clinical documents such as protocols, investigator brochures, and case report forms. Assist in identifying and evaluating clinical trial sites/investigators, and engage in site calls and visits. Lead the preparation of clinical sections for regulatory filings (IND, study reports, NDA, etc.) in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs and other departments. Serve as the medical expert for internal and external stakeholders, including collaborators, investigators, and consultants. Enhance knowledge in relevant therapeutic areas to bolster global clinical development initiatives. Represent the company at scientific conferences and meetings. Support investigator and consultant meetings and provide medical insights for advisory boards. Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders for feedback and guidance. Qualifications: Medical Degree. At least 8 years of clinical research experience with a minimum of 5 years in clinical document production, trial feasibility, or related roles. Additional experience in pharmaceuticals or academic research is a plus. Extensive hands-on experience with clinical trial design, execution, and medical oversight across various indications, including medical immunology, hematology, and oncology. Proficiency with GCP guidelines in both the US and Europe. Strong team collaboration skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Ability to work proactively, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving capabilities. Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed. Equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience may be accepted instead of the listed requirements. Compensation Package: The estimated salary range for this Clinical Research Medical Director role based in the US (outside of California) is $170,000.00 - $240,000.00 per year, with eligibility for a bonus of 15% - 30% based on role level. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 9 paid holidays, up to 5% 401(K) match, and tuition reimbursement. Final compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, and market data. For Washington State: First-year PTO accrual for this position is 160 hours annually, increasing to 180 hours after the completion of one year of service. For California: The estimated salary range for this Clinical Research Medical Director role based in California is $170,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year. This position is performed in an office setting, engaging with various office equipment. The role requires sitting for extended periods, repetitive hand movements, and some light to moderate lifting.
