NOW HIRING: ASSEMBLY OPERATORS IN VIRGINIA BEACH, VA The Lee Group is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assembly Operator to support production operations for one of our valued manufacturing clients in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a great opportunity for candidates with molding or manufacturing experience who are looking for a long-term, temp-to-hire role with growth potential. Position: Assembly Operator Location: Virginia Beach, VA Pay: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour Schedule: Monday through Friday (OT needed on Sat) Shift: 1st Shift Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire Benefits: Weekly pay, Medical, Dental, Vision Job Overview As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for producing and inspecting polymer molded parts by operating hydraulic molding machines in accordance with established work instructions. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-based manufacturing environment. Operators who demonstrate strong performance and experience may have the opportunity to advance to a Senior Operator role. Job Responsibilities Operate hydraulic molding presses safely and in accordance with work instructions Set up molding machine configurations and ensure correct end caps are used Preheat materials and ensure they are not damaged or contaminated Apply mold release and inspect mold cavities prior to loading Monitor and adjust molding temperatures based on material requirements Unload molded parts and clean cavities of any contamination Properly handle end caps and operate end cap pullers safely Remove flash from molded parts and visually inspect for defects such as offset, scorch, or damage Scan molded parts accurately into the system Inspect parts according to inspection criteria and properly sort passed, held, or rejected parts Stack acceptable parts carefully for the next process Identify, label, and segregate non-conforming parts per quality procedures Report defects or issues to the Team Leader immediately Maintain a clean and organized work area and support 5S initiatives Complete required paperwork accurately and on time Coordinate daily activities with the Team Leader and rotate breaks as needed Follow all quality, safety, and operating standards at all times Job Qualifications Previous manufacturing or molding experience is a MUST Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality standards Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work effectively in a team environment Willingness to learn and grow within the operation Operators with two or more years of experience and strong performance may be eligible for advancement to Senior Operator Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks throughout the shift Use of required personal protective equipment at all times Work performed in a manufacturing environment About The Lee Group The Lee Group is driven by our purpose and passion.
