Job Description HilltopSecurities is looking to hire a Sr. Middle Office Analyst. The Sr. Middle Office Analyst handles day to day Capital Markets Trading Support to ensure results align to business objectives. Responsibilities Manages day to day Capital Markets Trading Support to ensure results align to business objectives Facilitate new business Capital Markets on-boarding with internal and external parties to ensure new portfolios are set up in books and records a timely manner Partner with Head of Risk, Head of Fixed Income Trading, and Head of Underwriting to ensure the underwriting process from system set-up, deal file documentation, deal pricing and lifecycle, and statements distributions are well-managed. Subject matter expert on Middle Office trade and position management. Duties include: Monitor and support trading activity for the Trading Desks through the entire trade lifecycle from front to back (trade events/trade settlement/exceptions management / and reconciliations for both fixed income and equity products) Work with Trading and internal teams to effectively resolve trade discrepancies prior to Settlement Date Manage set-up configuration & reference data within trading platforms Ensure Market Data / Valuations of positions held are independently reviewed Generate and analyze daily Profit and Loss (P&L) and Exposure for designated Lines of Businesses Participate in reconciling the daily Trading P&L Understanding of Risk Management controls to ensure trading activities complies with internal and external policies and limits Share knowledge and expertise with Risk, Finance and Accounting teams Lead and perform testing of new/existing system functionalities Develop Policy and Procedures to ensure adherence of process and controls Participate in projects related to optimizing management of day to day activity Partner with technology team to execute the development of toolset; experience with designing and implementing solutions for improvement of internal processes, including documentation of business requirements, development of roadmaps, and plan/timelines for execution Produce daily reports and management reports as needed Comfortable with data and building management and analytics using data. Ability to leverage AI and can help improve processes using available tools within our technological ecosystem. Additional duties/projects/support as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 5 to 8 years' experience or graduate degree with 3 years' experience. Degree and work experience in economics or finance preferred. In-depth knowledge of Fixed Income Securities / Equity / Structured products Proficiency in Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, NetX360, FIS preferred Broker/dealer experience preferred Series 7 preferred Proficiency in MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills Strong risk and controls mindset Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to understand key issues and implement practical solutions Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaboratively interact with various levels of the organization Strong contributor with high motivation, ability to take initiative, set priorities, work efficiently/accurately in an atmosphere of frequently changing priorities with minimal supervision About Us At HilltopSecurities, we believe in building noble and collaborative relationships that enrich the financial future of individuals, businesses and communities.
