Your day-to-day will include: Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on production equipment, motors, drives, sensors, panels, and control systemsDiagnose PLC and control-related problems and collaborate with engineering when neededPerform electrical preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and prevent repeat failuresSupport equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and startupsEnsure all electrical work meets safety codes, LOTO requirements, and company standardsMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including RTUs, air handlers, chillers, compressors, and related controlsConduct preventive HVAC maintenance to ensure stable temperature and humidity for productionRespond to HVAC breakdowns impacting operations or safetyCoordinate and inspect work performed by external HVAC contractorsIdentify chronic electrical/HVAC issues and drive long-term corrective actionsReduce reliance on contractors through expanding internal capabilitiesParticipate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiativesRecommend PM enhancements, equipment upgrades, and appropriate spare partsMaintain accurate documentation, PM records, wiring updates, and repair logsSupport electrical and HVAC compliance requirements during auditsServe as a technical resource for engineering, operations, and maintenance teamsMentor other technicians and provide guidance as neededSupport on‑call or off‑shift response for critical plant issues What You'll Bring Successful completion of the Journeyman Electrician examMust be 18 years of age or olderFederal EPA 608 Certification (required for refrigerant work)Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex electrical and control systemsProficiency with PLC‑controlled equipment and variable frequency drives (VFDs)Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationStrong knowledge of electrical safety standards, codes, and best practicesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHigh school diploma or GEDCompletion of a registered electrical apprenticeship program (8,000 hours OJT + 500–800 hours classroom instruction)8+ years of hands‑on experience in industrial electrical maintenanceExtensive experience with industrial HVAC systems in manufacturing or large‑scale facility environments Preferred Experience HVAC certification or HVAC licenseExperience using CMMS systemsBackground in high-volume or automated manufacturing environmentsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality Core Competencies Action OrientedCollaborationOptimizes Work ProcessesNimble LearningDemonstrates self-awarenessValues Differences Why You'll Love Wahl Clipper We offer a competitive benefits package designed to support your well-being and growth, including: Low-cost BCBSIL medical, dental, and vision plansA generous company-matched 401(k) and profit sharingTuition support to fuel your learningPaid holidays and a vibrant, casual work environment But that's just the beginning.
