Controller Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for all aspects of accounting, finance and information systems. This position develops and manages the financial well-being of the organization by providing insight, operating reports and accounting services. Using independent judgment and discretion, the Controller maintains compliance with company policies, procedures, accounting/finance standards and current federal, state and local laws. The Controller plays a critical role in supporting growth, improving current operations and positioning the organization to meet financial objectives. The Controller will have the ability to successfully manage business and employee relationships and to motivate people in a dynamic environment. The Controller is a leader in the analysis, implementation and management of financial improvements in all areas of the organization. The Controller is entrepreneurial in nature, team oriented, decisive and driven to seek excellence through constant improvement, someone who works well in a collaborative environment with high performing teams. Marginal Job Duties and Responsibilities: A. Assist in the development of department staff by providing supervision and training as needed. B. Provide administrative support to the CFO with financial data analysis, and other tasks as needed Minimum Qualifications: A. An undergraduate degree in business, accounting or finance required; CPA, CGMA or MBA. B. Must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive financial and accounting responsibilities with an understanding of food, nuts and/or perishables production. C. Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills. D. Thorough knowledge of US GAAP. E. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations. F. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel (includes advanced), Outlook and Word. G. Extensive knowledge of computer and financial systems with a working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics SL, and custom Sequel Databases.
