As a Key Account Executive for State, Local, and Education (SLED) clients, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and providing outstanding value to our customers across the U.S. This key position in our sales organization is essential for connecting businesses with the solutions they require to succeed. Your Responsibilities: Oversee revenue generation of $30-40M. Employ specified sales tools to prioritize tasks, enhance efficiency, and document customer interactions (e.g., Prioritized Insights and SFDC). Drive profitable growth within your accounts by identifying new opportunities across the account hierarchy. Collaborate with Outside Developers to ensure program compliance across all client locations. Lead a dynamic Key Account team, including category experts and sales engineers, to execute strategic growth plans. Work with the Revenue Management Team to make informed pricing decisions, understanding account nuances and future spending potential. Exhibit strong business acumen to identify new opportunities aligned with customer initiatives (e.g., I&D, sustainability), and stay informed about the competitive landscape. Understand the customer industry's purchasing processes to support product selection and standardization. Partner with the Customer Success Manager to enhance customer experience and address maintenance requests. Build and maintain strong relationships with the senior leadership team at customer organizations. Experience within the Education and State & Local Government sectors is a plus but not mandatory. What You Bring: A strong determination and competitive spirit. A proactive attitude towards overcoming challenges and learning from setbacks. A history of managing programs or business development effectively. The ability to engage with customers at the highest executive levels. Proficiency in creating and delivering impactful presentations. Expertise in consultative, solutions-based selling, negotiation, and advanced client management. Capability to outline specific targets and design tailored growth strategies in collaboration with product sales teams. Strong business, financial, operational, and technological insight. Aptitude for analyzing customer data and market trends to craft customized solutions that resonate with Staples' value propositions. Self-motivated with minimal need for daily supervision. Basic Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in program management or business development. Solid knowledge of office supplies, technology products, furniture, and promotional products. Proficiency in interacting with senior executives at client organizations. Strong presentation skills, both in person and online. Experience in consultative selling and client management. Capable of designing and executing strategic customer growth plans. Strong business acumen with financial and operational insight. Competence in analyzing market data to devise customer-tailored solutions. Independent work style with minimal oversight. Ability to negotiate pricing for sales agreements. Experience in leading team sales processes alongside specialists. Adaptability to changing circumstances. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with government and education cooperatives. Proficient in Microsoft Office and essential software tools. Experience collaborating across various departments in a large organization. Prior experience managing accounts and successfully meeting sales quotas. Proficient in guiding complex deals from inception to fulfillment. Experience in B2B sales processes. A competitive base salary ranging from $62,000 to $86,000 plus commission potential.
