KPMG is seeking an Audit Intern to join our Audit and Assurance team. Responsibilities: Collaborate with a team to conduct financial statement audits, ensuring accuracy and reliability of client financial information while maintaining objectivity and independence; understand client-specific risks through review of financial results and market trends. Learn to prepare clear audit documentation detailing our understanding of client processes and systems. With guidance, execute and document tests of client controls and account balances using established standards. Contribute to a high-quality audit by performing assigned tasks and maintaining professional interactions with clients and team members. Utilize Data and Analytics (D&A) in audits, including data extraction and analysis; apply technologies such as AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI in audit procedures, and assist with related documentation. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or a similar program. Working towards meeting CPA licensure requirements in the respective state. Upon completing the internship, candidates should still have academic credits to earn their degree and fulfill CPA eligibility. Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher. Coursework in information systems, software engineering, or data analytics is preferred; familiarity with data analysis tools such as Alteryx or Power BI is advantageous. Understanding of accounting standards and principles is essential. Proficiency with computer applications, especially MS Office (with a focus on Excel); ability to learn KPMG's audit tools effectively. Demonstrated quality service mindset with strong communication, time management, and relationship-building skills; professional skepticism and sound judgment; adaptable team player with leadership experience. Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to the office and have reliable transportation. Audit professionals may work on-site at a KPMG office or client location an average of three days per week; some roles may require travel and overnight stays. Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
