As a Transmission/Substation Engineering Development & Testing Engineer 2, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future? /u00a0 /u00a0 Responsibilities Performs inspections and evaluations of existing conditions for various electrical equipment and systems for proper installation, problem identi/ufb01cation/ trouble shooting, and overall improvements. Ensures system event assessments and RCA are performed for equipment failures and implements corrective actions, con/ufb01rming proper mitigation plans are in place. Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and design plans related to projects and analysis of increasing scope and complexity. Conducts independent engineering work, receiving guidance on the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs power system modeling and analyses utilizing software tools and applications; stays informed of technology advancements, market trends, and relevant guidelines and standards related to energy technology. Ensures the performance of day-to-day preventive maintenance activities to maintain equipment and ensure continued operation according to required standards including Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality and environmental and reliability standards. Helps ensure infrastructure/u2019s supporting processes are validated/qualified throughout their life cycle. Develops the engineering facility design, including but not limited to electrical system design, such as sizing, creating one-line diagrams, and selecting equipment. Assists in the development of new technology and standards strategy and the implementation of strategies into business operations to improve power system functionality and quality of service to customers. Acts as project sponsors with some technical assistance when responding to technical questions requiring project modi/ufb01cation to move projects through their lifecycle. A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, /ufb01nancial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, con/ufb01dential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scienti/ufb01c/technical/math /ufb01eld. Two or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. Possess a valid Class C Driver's License. /u00a0 Preferred Qualifications Strong understanding and technical capability to deliver advanced technology demonstration projects from concept to field deployment. Experience executing projects that focus on the customer(s) through design thinking, incorporating feedback and developing agreement among stakeholders to maximize project success and technology transfer. Knowledge of modeling power systems especially using PSCAD (software in the loop), RTDS (hardware in the loop), and other power flow and short circuit duty software. Experience working hands on in lab environment with instrumentation and performing testing. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work on and successfully lead multi-departmental cross functional technical teams on projects with moderate financial and operational impact. Familiarity with SCE/u2019s publicly available January 2025 Technology Roadmap. Familiarity with the CPUC/u2019s Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) program./u00a0 /u00a0 /u00a0 Additional Information This position/u2019s work mode is hybrid./u00a0The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
