Position Overview: Hopkins Public Schools is seeking Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teachers and a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support students eligible for Extended School Year (ESY) services. These positions will work in a self-contained classroom setting, serving students with moderate to severe disabilities. Responsibilities include curriculum planning, direct instruction, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities & Requirements: Licensure & Credentials for speech pathologist: Master's degree in Communication Disorders and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Licensure & Credentials for special education teacher: Licensed in early childhood special education Direct Therapy & Collaboration: Provide direct speech therapy, collaborate with special education staff, and consult with teachers to support students' communication needs. IEP Implementation: Develop and carry out ESY-specific IEP goals and objectives. Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC): Familiarity with AAC systems and strategies to support students with complex communication needs. Team Consultation: Provide expertise and training for multi-disciplinary teams and paraprofessionals. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting. Interest in supporting students with diverse learning and communication needs.
