Be sure to watch your email for communication regarding this position.Position Title: | PT - Security Department: | Security Reports to: | Chief of Security Status: | Hourly Non-ExemptJOB DESCRIPTIONMust be available for special events on variable shiftsCompensation $15.00 hourlySummary of Position To ensure the safety and security of all hotel guests and employees and provide 100% guest satisfaction.Duties & ResponsibilitiesFollow all procedures for proper patrolling and reporting of propertyPatrol parking lotPatrol bulidingInsure all areas are secureFollows all lost and found procedures and ensure all associates are doing the same through continuous training and follow upEnsure the safety of all guests and employees through Safety checksPerform checks on fire extinguishersPerform checks on safety operation of machineryAlways look for any safety hazards, correct them immediatelyBe involved in the Safety CommitteeMaintain and overlook the proper Key Control policiesEvaluate and assist in handling all emergencies. This will necessitate a complete understanding of all emergency systems, including alarm systems and the fire control roomRespond to all guest and employee incidents/accidents with appropriate emergency actionInvestigate and report all such incidents in a timely manner with the proper documentationAlways have the knowledge and operating functions of all alarm doors, elevator-reset keys and fire panel proceduresKeep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance which require corrective actionCommunicate closely with the Director of Security on any pertinent information concerning the safety and security of the hotel.Conduct and/or attend meetings as required.Prepare reports as requested to develop an informative database for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities.Perform all accountabilities in a professional, timely and efficient manner, following established company policy and projecting a favorable image to achieve objectives, public recognitionPerform all other duties as requested or required to insure the smooth operation of the propertyEssential FunctionsAbility to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workersProlonged periods of standing and/or walkingAbility to climb stairs frequentlyAbility to respond quickly in the event of an emergency to physically assist guests and staff as deemed necessary by the event, which may require the ability to move quickly from one end of the property to another using stairs to gain access, evacuate the building during a fire drill, respond to medical emergencies and other emergency events that may be physically demanding.Ability to visually check work, work area, and hotel spaceMinimum lifting of 30 poundsOther RequirementsKnowledge of English and local languageAbility to deal with the public in a professional and courteous mannerAbility to deal with guests, associates and others with security techniques to address issues is a safe and secure manner.Ability to communicate with all managers, supervisors and fellow associatesAbility to handle conflict situations in a professional mannerBe well groomed and conform to the hotel’s dress codeAbility to secure team buy in to comply with hotel policies and procedures.Safety AwarenessMaintain safety by adhering to safety policies, being responsible to report all accidents immediately. Support all safety programs. Proceed with caution when walking on slippery floors. Ensure proper safety instructions are given before operating any equipment.
