Join WWT today!A Brief OverviewAs a Lead Data Engineer, you will serve as a strategic and technical leader in the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of enterprise-grade CI/CD systems that underpin the delivery of a commercial software product. You will drive the Data Engineering vision across the organization, championing scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions that support deployments in both customer-managed data centers and cloud environments. This role demands a blend of architectural foresight, hands-on engineering expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. You will lead initiatives to modernize build and release pipelines, enforce Data Engineering best practices, and mentor engineering teams on automation, observability, and infrastructure as code. As a key influencer in the software delivery lifecycle, you will troubleshoot complex system issues, guide platform reliability improvements, and ensure alignment with business and product goals.Tasks and Responsibilities: Help develop and optimize cloud-based data storage and processing solutions using Snowflake. Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes Collaborate with Federated teams and other data engineers to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions. Ensure data integrity and security across all data workflows and storage solutions. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, addressing any issues promptly to ensure the smooth flow of data. Develop reusable and modular stored procedures and scripts for data processing. Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance and best practices. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and accuracy. Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and metadata management. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Computer Science required A minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in a related field Proven leadership in DevOps strategy and execution, including guiding agile teams through complex infrastructure and automation initiatives. Comprehensive understanding of enterprise networking and security architectures, including advanced routing, switching, firewall policies, and zero-trust principles across hybrid environments. Architectural expertise in scalable web application infrastructure, including DNS, CDN, reverse proxies, load balancers, service meshes, and distributed microservices. Mastery of container orchestration in production environments, with deep experience in Kubernetes (including multi-cluster and hybrid deployments), Helm, and Docker Compose. Advanced cloud engineering skills across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with hands-on leadership in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management (CM) using Terraform, Packer, Ansible, and related tools. Strategic CI/CD leadership, including designing and optimizing pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and integrating security, compliance, and observability. Advanced Git expertise, including governance of branching strategies, release workflows, and integration with automated deployment systems. Experience in architecting and implementing Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions in cloud and hybrid environments. Leadership in image lifecycle management, including automated creation, hardening, and deployment of machine images (e.g., AMIs, OVAs). Deep familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, especially in multi-tenant or cloud-native networking contexts. Understanding of machine learning infrastructure, including model deployment pipelines, GPU resource scaling, and MLOps integration. The well-being of WWT employees is essential. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $133,200 to $166,500 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
