Job Title: Senior Identity Engineer (Contingent Workforce) Location: Charlotte, NC Engagement Type: Contingent Resource About the Role We are seeking a highly technical and innovative Senior Identity Engineer to support complex engineering initiatives across our enterprise environment. In this role, you will serve as a subject-matter expert, influencing strategy, designing scalable solutions, and executing hands-on engineering work for mission-critical identity platforms. You will partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to architect, design, and implement advanced solutions across Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). This is not a system administration position-this is a deep engineering role requiring extensive architectural insight, problem-solving ability, and hands-on technical excellence. Responsibilities Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of advanced identity and access management (IAM) solutions across Active Directory and Entra ID. Provide expert consultation for highly complex business and technical challenges across Engineering. Develop long-term, scalable solutions requiring creativity, innovation, and advanced analytical thinking. Partner with senior leaders to shape identity strategy and recommend forward-looking engineering solutions. Engage directly with engineering teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance identity-related systems. Contribute to strategic initiatives requiring deep technical evaluation across multiple engineering domains. Required Qualifications 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience through consulting, military service, professional work, or education. Extensive hands-on engineering experience with Active Directory (6+ years). Deep technical expertise with Entra ID / Azure Active Directory (6+ years). Strong background in Identity & Access Management (IAM) frameworks (4-6 years). Advanced proficiency in scripting (PowerShell or similar) with 6+ years of practical experience. Ability to architect, design, and implement complex technical solutions end-to-end. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Azure engineering (4-6 years). Broad understanding of enterprise identity management and security best practices.
