Season: May/June - August (Start and end dates can align with your school schedule when feasible!) Hours: 20-40 per week Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend shifts Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Pay: Starting at $16.25/hour You'll work in beautiful park settings, help maintain green spaces, and make a real impact in your community-all while gaining hands-on experience. Job Summary- Under the general supervision of the Parks & Forestry Superintendent and full-time staff, the position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to prepare and maintain quality public park facilities and grounds. Examples of DutiesMowing: Regularly mow grass of designated Parks and municipal grounds to keep the areas well-maintained. Trimming, Weeding, Watering, Mulching and Chipping Branches: Ensure a neat and tidy appearance by trimming, weeding, watering, applying mulch where needed. Assisting with chipping branches when required. Ball Diamond Maintenance: Maintain and prepare ball diamonds for use, which includes tasks like chalking baselines, setting bases, and ensuring the field is safe and playable. Litter collection: Pick up and properly dispose of any litter on Parks and municipal grounds to keep properties clean and inviting. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Typical QualificationsRequirements: Minimum Age 17 years old. Must be dependable and able to report to work on time. Special Requirements: Good driving record. Valid state driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to start of job. Must possess and wear ankle high safety toe boots while at work. Supplemental InformationKnowledge and experience with basic labor and maintenance-related tasks. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Capability to perform the physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and operating equipment.
