Salary : $39,769.60 - $56,908.80 Annually Location : Kissimmee, FL Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 00699 Department: Operations Opening Date: 02/27/2026 Closing Date: 3/15/2026 11:59 PM Eastern General Description Salary:Utility Worker: $19.12 - $23.90 Hourly - ($39,770 - $49,712 Annually) Utility Technician I: $20.46 - $25.57 Hourly - ($42,557 - $53,186 Annually) Utility Technician II: $21.90 - $27.36 Hourly - ($45,552 - $56,909 Annually) Under close supervision, the purpose of this position is to perform entry-level work in support of the construction and maintenance of Toho Water Authority's water resource systems. Work involves performing semi-skilled manual labor, operating heavy equipment, locates, repair water/wastewater lines to ensure quality control services to customers. Reports to the Zone Foreman. Utility Worker - In this role, you will support a team of skilled operators and technicians with repair of water/wastewater lines and other system components. Work will involve heavy physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (20-50 pounds) and occasionally very heavy weight (in excess of 100 pounds). Utility Technician I - In this role, you will work as part of a team of skilled operators and technicians that are tasked with the repair of lift stations, water/wastewater lines and system components. This position is responsible for responding to trouble calls that are received by the dispatch team and reporting findings in the work order system. Reports to the zone Foreman. Utility Technician II -In this role, you will be responsible for installing and servicing hydrants; conducting locates for contractors; installing air vacuum release valves; repairing various meters and system components; maintaining manhole rings and covers; remaining on call. Essential FunctionsUtility Worker Essential Functions Must be physically able to operate a vehicle, construction equipment, and various hands-on power tools. Performing skills from basic to high tolerance of pipefitting, installing, replacing, repair and remove sewer laterals blockages. Breakage and removal of concrete and asphalt repairs. Exercises valves, checks hydrants for leaks, services for customers. All other duties assigned. Utility Technician I Essential Functions Performs supportive work for Toho Water Authority's lift stations, water/wastewater system for construction, and repair projects; restores site after construction/ repair work; and clears debris and materials remnants. Performs a combination of manual and semi-skilled labor and equipment operation for the purpose of maintaining and repairing Toho Water Authority's lift stations, water/wastewater line, and related facilities All other duties assigned. Utility Technician II Essential Functions Manages meter and water lines by digging holes with shovel; removing dirt, meter, and PVC; restoring area; installing sewer lateral; ensuring locates have been completed; setting up MOT; cutting asphalt or concrete; installing right size pipe; running pip; and bedding the pipe. Backs up sewers at customer location by recognizing the cause of the back-up; digging up the line; operating a sewer machine with rods; and replacing all broken lines. Operates front end loader by completing pre-trip inspections; back filling open trench; loading dump trucks; disconnecting loader bucket; and evaluating project site and backfilling. Repairs force mains by digging up and exposing the line; determining the cause of the problem; contacting station personnel; shutting down lift states; conducting repairs; and restoring area. Repairs water main breaks by digging and exposing the water line; shutting off water; conducting repairs; testing lines and flush systems; and restoring area. Performs all plumbing duties by managing meter boxes, sewer laterals, main breaks, force mains, etc. All other duties assigned. Minimum QualificationsUtility Worker Minimum QualificationsA minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator. This is an entry level position; previous relevant work experience is preferred but not required. Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License. A State of Florida Class A Driver's License with tanker endorsement must be obtained within 6 months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment. Utility Technician I Minimum QualificationsA minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator. Minimum of one year relevant experience. Must be able to successfully demonstrate working knowledge of Utility Worker skill set. Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License. A State of Florida Class A Driver's License with tanker endorsement must be obtained within 6 months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment. Utility Technician II Minimum Qualifications A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator. Minimum of two years relevant experience Level III Water Distribution License or Collection Technician Certification. Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License. A State of Florida Class A Driver's License with tanker endorsement must be obtained within 6 months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment.
