Assist utility operators with the performance of a variety of repair and maintenance tasks to keep the city's water and sanitary sewer systems in good working order. Expected Pay Range for New Hires: $19.57/hour - $21.17/hour Work Hours & Environment: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday or 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mon.-Thur. or Tues. -Fri., depending on the needs of the Department. Work is approximately 90% outdoors / 10% indoors. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesAssist utility operators with maintenance of the water distribution system, including flushing and repair of hydrants. Assist with the inspection and repair of catch basins, manholes, outlets and sanitary/storm lift stations. Assist with the installation and repair of signs and barricades; manually dig holes and trenches. Assist utility operators with utility grounds and building maintenance to include cleaning, painting, lawn mowing, weed control and minor landscape repairs. Work cooperatively with other divisions and departments to maintain city facilities and property. Adhere to and promote safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate safe equipment operation and working conditions in traffic on city streets. Minimum QualificationsMust be 18 years of age or older. Must have a valid driver's license. Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
