Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – IMCU Float Pool RN – North Carolina Start Date: March 30, 2026 Location: Boone, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (7pm-7am), up to 2 weekends per month, holiday rotation included Highlights: Float pool position serving IMCU with float to Med/Surg as needed based on patient volume 4:1 to 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio with goal staffing of 4:1; 24-bed unit with average daily census of 20-24 patients EPIC EMR system with recent proficiency required Blocked scheduling may be considered if requested upfront Care for diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics Competitive travel assignment for experienced nurses seeking variety and professional growth Requirements: Current North Carolina RN license or active Multistate compact license BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS certifications required and must remain current throughout contract Minimum 2 years of RN experience with telemetry/PCU/stepdown background Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required Recent and demonstrated proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system Skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, cardiac drip management, and non-invasive airway management Must reside more than 40 miles from facility per local staffing guidelines COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This IMCU float pool position offers experienced travel nurses the chance to enhance their clinical versatility while working in a supportive environment with manageable patient ratios.
