The Guest Services Patrol Attendant is a hybrid guest service and property presence role designed to support guest satisfaction, property standards, and safety awareness. This role is service-focused and observational in nature. This position is not a security officer, law enforcement officer, or protective services role. It is intended to be an active presence role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Property Presence & Observation Maintain a visible, professional presence throughout hotel property. Conduct interior and exterior property walks at minimum once per hour. Monitor parking areas, entrances, hallways, stairwells, and public areas. Immediately report suspicious or unlawful activity to hotel management and/or local authorities. Carry a Relay Radio at all times while on duty. Employee shall not pursue, detain, restrain, confront, or physically intervene in any criminal activity. Responsibilities are limited to observation, documentation, and reporting. Guest Service Support Deliver guest-requested items to rooms. Respond to noise complaints in accordance with hotel policy. Provide luggage assistance when requested. Perform light cleaning and presentation checks of hallways and public areas. Identify and report sanitation, safety, or maintenance concerns. If downtime exists and demand requires it, assist with laundry duties, as needed. Personal Vehicle Usage (If Applicable) If the employee elects to use a personal vehicle during their shift, the vehicle shall be parked in the designated front-entry location and a hotel-issued safety light must be displayed while on shift. The employee must maintain a valid driver's license and active personal auto insurance. Personal Vehicle Indemnification Clause Use of a personal vehicle is voluntary and not required as a condition of employment unless otherwise stated in writing. The hotel assumes no responsibility for damage, theft, vandalism, or loss involving the employee's personal vehicle. The employee agrees to maintain appropriate insurance coverage and releases the hotel from liability related to personal vehicle use while on duty, except where prohibited by law. Scope of Authority & Limitations This role has no arrest authority. This role is not licensed armed or unarmed security. No use of force is authorized except as allowed under applicable self-defense laws. The employee shall not represent themselves as security or law enforcement. This position does not guarantee guest safety or crime prevention. Schedule & Work Conditions Primarily evening shift (typically 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM ). Schedule is based on occupancy and business demand and may include weekends and holidays. Requires indoor and outdoor walking in varying weather conditions. Role requires ability to remain on one's feet for the duration of the scheduled hours. Ascending and descending of stairwells up to five (5) floors in height throughout shifts and as required. Must be able to communicate clearly with hotel management and/or local authorities in the event of an emergency. This job description outlines general duties and is not exhaustive.
