May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff. Commerce, San Antonio Texas 78228 Work Hours 7:15 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday. Essential Job FunctionsOperates a 10 cy or less dump trucks to and from work locations, construction sites, etc. Operates various types of road construction equipment such as skid loader, flat wheel roller, pneumatic roller sweepers, and oil distributors. Performs minor maintenance and service checks on equipment. Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor work related to various maintenance and construction activities such as; pot-hole repair, base and pavement repair, and street maintenance. Performs minor maintenance and service checks on equipment. Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor work related to various maintenance and construction activities. May prepare a daily log of activities. Cleans and removes debris from streets, drainage, ditches, and other areas, frequently lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Removes brush and trash from drainage inlets. Transports tools and equipment to and from work sites. May assist in the placement of barricades, signs, flashers, and safety cones. Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job RequirementsFormal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. One (1) year of experience operating light, medium, or heavy equipment or completion of an SA: Ready to Work CDL training program. Must obtain a Valid Texas Commercial Class "B" Driver's License plus all required endorsements within six (6) months of employment. Preferred Qualifications Class "A" or Class "B" Commercial Driver's License. Three (3) + years' experience in all aspects of street construction / reconstruction. Three (3) + years' experience with hot and/or cold mix asphalt placement. Three (3) + years' experience repairing potholes with patch truck. Three (3) + years' experience operating medium to heavy equipment (i.e. front-end loader, skid loader, double drum roller, pneumatic roller, etc.). One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
