Job Title: Quality EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer who possesses a robust understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF Standards, particularly the current revisions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with the core tool set from AIAG and excel in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal, written communication, and reporting skills are essential. This role demands a self-starter with a strong desire for continuous improvement in quality to enhance overall company performance.Responsibilities Participate in advanced quality planning activities during design and contract reviews. Interface with customers, customer service, sales, engineering, and production personnel to transfer new products to the production floor. Support inspectors to ensure processes and inspections are sound so that products are produced to specification. Develop validation strategies, protocols, and reports for products and processes as needed. Perform PPAP activities as needed. Participate in audits as assigned. Examine inspection procedures and documentation and make improvements where required. Develop training to build quality awareness and to support updates in work instructions and procedures. Improve the quality of a given process using data collected and by applying problem-solving and statistical techniques. Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate current processes and changes. Inspect incoming, in-process, and final products for conformance to specifications using both open surface plate layout and CMM inspection. Perform the final evaluation of materials and manufactured parts that do not meet specifications. Help analyze product failures, prepare, and apply corrective actions to customers. Perform GR&R and process capability studies to assist with product validations. Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with customer specifications. Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements. Essential Skills 1+ year of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in ISO 9001 and IATF knowledge. Strong GD&T measuring and Gage R&R skills. Bachelor's degree in an engineering field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree is acceptable. Experience with Minitab is a plus; training can be provided. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and support corrective actions. Solid working knowledge of PFMEAs and Control Plans. Work EnvironmentThis position supports a plastic manufacturing company. The work will be divided between 60% desk and paperwork, and 40% on the plant floor.
