Additional information about the company can be found at WhirlpoolCorp.com .This role in summaryWhirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Analyst, Engineering, opening to join our Central Manufacturing Engineering Group (CME). The position will be located at our Clyde or Marion Manufacturing Site.Whirlpool is looking for an experienced Mechanical and or Project Manager with a strong background in design, build and qualification of manufacturing processes. As part of the Central Manufacturing Engineering Group, the successful candidate will work closely with Laundry manufacturing locations, E&T (Engineering and Technology), Advanced Manufacturing, Quality and Safety to execute new manufacturing projects. This will cover coveted brands such as Whirlpool, Amana, Estate, KitchenAid, and Maytag.The successful candidate will be at the forefront of developing and implementing new manufacturing technologies. This will require determining the anticipated impact to the existing manufacturing footprint, including establishing the capital and expense budget estimates, defining and documenting potential benefits.Your responsibilities will include Support WCM methodologies with Integration of new equipment/process Support manufacturing by ensuring proper design for cost and maintainability Assume various Project Management roles on projects as assigned or required Work closely with NPI and Laundry manufacturing locations to define capital purchases Specifying through implementation and handoff of new equipment to manufacturing operations Improve speed in which we deliver winning products to the marketplace Ensure that new manufacturing processes are flexible in design to accommodate long range new product cadence plans with the intent of minimizing future capital requirements. Lead projects and special assignments as required 20% travel (Domestic) Minimum requirements Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience Preferred skills and experiences Operations process development and implementation experience Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts Analytical and problem solving skills. Interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to work in a team environment Project management skills In-depth knowledge of laundry appliance fabrication, tooling and related manufacturing processes such as complex fabrication lines/cells that contain forming, piercing, bending, welding, robotics, etc. Ability to translate component GD&T, (Geometry Dimensioning and Tolerancing), into equipment designs so that critical interfaces are assured Demonstrated history of gathering input from key stakeholders and gaining their buy-in Demonstrated success in translating technical concepts to commonly used business language Support manufacturing by ensuring proper design for cost and maintainability Experience working in a heavily automated production environment RSRWHWhat we offerGenerous benefits package, Whirlpool employee discount, fitness & educational reimbursement programs, kitchenettes, and more!
