Position Summary Reporting to the EHS Manager, The Safety Clerk supports the Safety Department by maintaining accurate records, assisting with compliance activities, and providing administrative support. The ideal Candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills in both English and Spanish enabling them to interact effectively with employees at all levels. They should be, organized, detailed oriented with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Position Responsibilities Maintain and update Incident Logs, ensuring all safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions are accurately recorded. Manage Red Zone -Safety Observation Master Log, ensuring observations reported are entered promptly and follow-up actions are tracked. Maintain organized filing systems for safety documents, training records, SDS files, and compliance paperwork. Assist the Employee Safety Committee in meeting its objectives and responsibilities. Help coordinate committee initiatives, safety campaigns and follow up activities. • Respond to internal inquiries regarding safety records, forms, and procedures. • Provides support to personnel on the floor to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health guidelines. • Prepare and distribute safety topics for Team Leads to use during crew talks, or daily training sessions, ensuring safety topics align with company policies, current hazards, and applicable safety guidelines. • Assist in developing safety SOP’s. • Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follow-up as necessary. • Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Must be Bilingual English / Spanish Strong organizational skills Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Must be able to work independently Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of workplace safety practices Ability to lead and conduct Safety trainings Ability to identify safety issues and problem solve Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed The pay for this role in the state of CA is $21.00/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
