Description  Folder Gluer Operator (Bobst / Heidelberg) | Folding Carton Facility| Relocation Assistance Provided We are expanding our folding carton operations and looking for a skilled operator with hands-on experience running Bobst or Heidelberg folder gluers. This is an opportunity to join a stable, growth-oriented facility where your expertise in carton setup, changeovers, and high-speed production is valued. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING  As the Folder/Gluer Operator you are responsible for properly setting up and running the Folder gluer according to job specifications in a safe and efficient manner. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday–Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Training will take place on 1st shift, Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review daily schedule and gather required parts to change machine over per the job ticket specification. Properly set up machine according to job specifications. Ensure that print, fold, and glue quality meets Fortis expectations and job specifications. Maintain glue systems by cleaning and executing the proper PM requirements. Run the folder gluer in a safe and efficient manner. While running will need to maintain print, fold and glue quality expectations by reviewing samples throughout the run. Properly utilize the ERP system to capture all production data. Utilization of smartsheets to include requesting maintenance, supplies, and any job ticket information that needs to be updated. Perform all necessary maintenance and PM schedules for operators. Communicate with the Offset Pressman and Die Cutter and issues with print or die cut. Communicate with Shift Supervisor any non-conformances or machine problems. Maintain the work area and machine in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed policies and safety regulations. Additional duties as required. Requirements: Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. At least one year similar experience in a printing or production environment preferred. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read work tickets and interpret written information to provide the proper supplies to the press Ability to do basic math and measurements. Must be proactive and detail oriented to catch problems or inconsistencies and bring them to management’s attention. Be careful and respectful of high dollar press tooling. Good organization skills to manage multiple different labels each day. Should be mechanically inclined to grasp the basics of press setup and operation. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Training Requirements: Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned. Physical Demands: Lifting, standing, crouching, stair climbing with a load, and associated repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and up to 75 lbs. with assistance. Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening. Work Environment: Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment. Warehouse temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures. Regular skin and clothing exposure to ink, UVs, varnishes, and detergents. Personal Protective Equipment: Safety toe shoes are highly recommended. Safety glasses may be required when completing specific job tasks.
