Major Areas of Focus Crew Leaders (CL) are front-line workers who work alone or oversee a crew of up to 5 technicians. They are responsible for the equipment, work production, and team members assigned to them. CLs work hard side by side with technicians to complete the work. They make sure the work gets done safely, efficiently, and with quality. This position reports to a Project Manager and may be supported by a Field Supervisor. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may also be assigned: Client Management Professionally represents East Coast Facilities, Inc. always.Able to respond properly to the client and follow up to make sure their needs have been completed to their satisfactionAble to recognize when they do not have the answer for the client and let them know they will find out or get the Project Manager involvedKeeps the Project Manager aware of all client concerns and communication on the job siteMaintains a positive, responsive, and flexible attitude to all clientsInspects site and advises Project Manager of potential liabilities Crew Supervision Ensures that the crew meets the projected man and material budgets on assigned work ticketsPrepares and secures all materials, tools, and equipment first thing in the morning for that day's work scheduleTops off with fuel, turns in paperwork to office, cleans service vehicle and prepares for next day's activityAble to assign tasks to crew members (if applicable) and follow up to make sure that work was completed properlyEnsures that all crew members (if applicable) report to work on time and follow all company rules and proceduresTakes appropriate disciplinary actions as necessary and involves a Production Manager when necessary Crew Training Ensures crew members are trained on company safety policiesAble to certify crews in the job tasks assigned to the Crew LeaderTrains crew members (if applicable) to do job effectively and efficiently Able to cross train crew members in the performance of Crew Leader’s role for future growthCan effectively communicate in English and/or Spanish what is to be learned Performance Reviews Able to evaluate the performance of the crewAble to assist the Project Manager in a performance review for crew membersAble to monitor goals based on evaluation process Safety Management Maintains and promotes safe working conditions in the field at all timesFollows company procedures on discipline if any safety rules are brokenHave zero preventable accidents Image Compliance Maintains clean, neat, and professional image of service vehicle & trailerEnsure crew members maintain professional image using approved ECF uniforms and by monitoring & maintaining proper employee actions Equipment Management Ensures all assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles & trailers or other items are maintained in proper working order by following proper maintenance and inventory schedulesIs accountable for neglect and abuse of assigned equipment Administrative Able to read and writeCan organize and implement work scheduleResponsible for the following forms and proceduresAccident Reporting Forms Equipment Inventory Form Equipment Repair/Request As applicable – MR – FEP - ACP Monthly Vehicle Safety Inspection Quality Control Inspection Form As applicable - Irrigation IMR Form As applicable - Trailer Safety Inspection Form General Qualifications Able to effectively communicate in the English language including basic reading and writing skillsHave and hold a clean driver’s licenseDrive company vehicles as directedOperate various types of equipment and machinery associated with this job descriptionIs a journeyman in one or more of the following job sub-categories:Professional landscape maintenance operationsProfessional landscape construction servicesLandscape repairs, restoration, and remediationLicensed arbor care and tree trimming servicesLandscape irrigation repairs and maintenance Perform other assigned tasks related to landscape managementWinter Season Operations (if applicable)Plow snow using trucks or loadersShovel snow using hand shovels or snow blowersApply salt and other de-icing agents to paved surfacesAssist with pre-storm preparedness Assist with post-storm cleanup and restocking Able to operate a smartphone, send and receive emails, take digital photosCan pass an illicit drug testCan pass a criminal background checkComply with business ethics, applicable laws and regulationMaintain confidentiality of proprietary information Work Environment/Physical Requirements Work in/or about situations near direct automotive trafficWork near or about natural bodies of waterWork with various types of work liftsAble to work overtime or extended shifts if required by ManagementAbility to work in extreme conditions – working temperatures may be between 0 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of timeAbility to work in extreme cold or wintry precipitationAbility to lift and carry 50 lbs.
