Works in collaboration with other staff and managers in the planning, implementing and evaluation of medical and nursing care under approved protocols in accordance with the appropriate policies, procedures and NNP Scope of Practice. 24 Hour Shifts EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS • 1 to 2 years NNP in level III NICU EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS • Master's Degree Nursing - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS • Neonatal Resuscitation Program American Academy of Pediatrics • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider American Heart Association • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Louisiana State Board of Nursing • Registered Nursing License Louisiana State Board of Nursing • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner National Certification Corporation (NCC) SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Knowledge of APRN procedures specific to the role: chest tube placement, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, needle thoracotomy, percutaneous central line placement, peripheral artery puncture and cannulation, removal of thoracotomy tube, suprapubic bladder aspiration, umbilical artery catheterization, umbilical vein catheterization and ventricular catheter reservoir aspiration. • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard. • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. • The above job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
