Responsibilities Advanced Practice Provider - Inpatient Medical Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Piedmont Columbus Children's Hospital as a PRN provider. In this role you will: • Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries on the general pediatrics floor as well as our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient's medical record. • Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. • Collaborate with the on-call physician for the overnight care of the pediatric patient with the physician on call for urgent needs. • Collaborate with the care team on the floor and the PICU to oversee and participate on care of the general and intensive pediatric patient. • Ability to handle cross cover calls and assist with admissions. • Communicate clearly the plan of care to the patient's family or caregivers as needed about the pediatric patient's condition or treatment plan. • Provide overnight care supporting admissions from the Pediatric Emergency Room, the General Pediatric floor and/or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. • Initiate and/or assist in bedside procedures as directed by the physician to facilitate and expedite patient care.
