Job Description The Sr. Manager, Industrial Engineering is responsible for planning, coordination, and administration of the company's Industrial Engineering operations. Also responsible for Facilities, and Maintenance. This role is responsible for Large CapEx Projects and collaboration with Enterprise cross functional teams. This includes development of programs related to plant design, development and construction of equipment, tooling, quality control, and plant facilities, maintenance, repair, and replacement of machinery; capital project analysis; application of production processes; and interchange of industrial engineering information within the division. This position will serve our Raypak Division, located in Oxnard, CA. ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the development of capital expenditure budgets that support the Division goal for facility changes, equipment modifications/ relocations and process/ quality improvements. Participates in matrix organization project teams in leadership or contributory roles. Participate in productivity and quality improvement projects by investigating, analyzing, and estimating cost reduction in proposed major changes involving department layouts, methods, and operating sequence, machine utilization, tools, jigs, fixtures, and the introduction of automation. Participate in estimating labor and material costs and requirements for new or changing products. Supervises assigned activities and personnel to ensure projects are developed, constructed, and implemented in compliance with state and federal regulations; prioritizes projects and monitors progress; acts as the department's liaison with contractors and other department representatives to inform them of project's effects and resolution to issues; conducts meetings to oversee development of project implementation and sequence plans; and determines solutions to product compliance and monitors implementation. Submit annual budgets for Industrial Engineering, Facilities and Maintenance activities on a yearly basis. Analyze all manufacturing and procedural proposals to determine the most feasible methods, the probable capital or expense requirements and the estimated total costs. Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication. Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment. Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Conducts periodic review to determine quality training needs and updates quality procedures as required Develops management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation Manages in process and first article inspection of finished goods and component parts and raw materials. Submit weekly plant KPI's and Monthly drumbeat reporting to Director of Operations for Enterprise report out - SQDCE (Safety, Delivery, Quality, Cost and Engagement). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises small to mid-size team of employees in the Industrial Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QualificationsBachelor's in manufacturing/industrial Engineering. 10+ years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Knowledge of engineering design software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Pay scale for this role based in California is $142,400 - $261,468.
