Essential Responsibilities: Performs work in compliance with safe operating procedures and practices including safe operation of all assigned tools and equipment, proper lockout/tryout of all energy sources to production equipment and systems being worked on, and proper use of required personal protection equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include active participation in safety and other miscellaneous training and inspection of cranes and powered mobile equipment as required. Complies with all environmental management requirements including proper separation and disposal of waste materials. As required, incumbents move hazardous waste from point of generation to accumulation container as necessary during course of normal repair and maintenance duties. Maintains familiarity with hazardous waste definitions and procedures and accumulation area management requirements. Inspects coated coils prior to packaging. Operates and monitors delivery coil scale. Operates Nematron computer, coil ID banding unit, walking beam conveyers and transfer cars, paper dispensing unit and packaging crane(s). Wraps coils with paper or shrink film and places pad inserts and banding to customer specifications. Prints coil tags on computer and applies required stickers and labels to wrapped coils. Utilizes Level 1, 2, and 3 computer systems as necessary to perform job. Replaces banding materials, paper dispenser rolls, cardboard and other packaging inserts and materials. Operates forklift. Loads and unloads rail cars and trucks using radio remote controlled cranes. Visually inspects and accepts/rejects substrate coils received by rail or truck in accordance with PRO-TEC standards. Uses LXE scanner to verify coil I.D. and processes coils into Automated Crane Warehouse Systems (ACWS) following proper inspection. Loads coils on trucks and rail cars using ACWS, verifying coils I.D. tags with load paperwork. Secures coils in rail cars in preparation for shipment. Releases empty and reloaded rail cars. Operates Trackmobile to reposition rail cars after verifying position of rail car valves, handbrakes, derailers, switches, and personnel. Maintains housekeeping and performs other related tasks assigned. The ability to work the 12-hour, swing shift rotation is considered an essential function of this position. Position Requirements This position requires the ability to intermittently stand, climb, bend, stoop, and moderate lifting for short periods of time. Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity. The position also requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk throughout the large facility, and withstand varying extreme weather conditions while working within the facility. May also be required to work on high, elevated platforms. Hours Per Week Work 48/36 hours per week. Rotating 12-hour shifts (7-7), with 7 days off in a row every 28 days. Salary Earning potential of $4,800/month ($28.25/hourly equivalent) and $960/month towards your retirement and benefits allocation. Base salary is $4,108/month Overtime built-in by working scheduled shift is ~$616/month Shift premium when working nights ~$173.34/month ($2.00/hour on nights) $720 benefits allocation 5% in 401K 1% match
